Department Practicum Focus
Hours Vary by Focus Area

Department Practicum – Practicum hours vary based on your assigned ministry focus. Students will begin receiving weekly hours approximately 4–5 weeks after orientation.

Students are chosen for a ministry practicum focus. They are placed under a department head who disciples them through practical and spiritual ministry experiences.

FOCUS

  • Decide to focus on videography, photography, or graphic design during the year to further develop your skills. Each student will have a tailored learning experience based upon their ability. They will work on various projects and campaigns to fine-tune skills learned from lessons.

A portfolio must be submitted before final acceptance.

  • Students develop essential administrative skills to foster an environment for ministry to thrive. The building blocks of this area are communication, collaboration, and connection. Students will aim to learn how to lead and serve people in the church body.

  • Students will learn the importance of the relationship between missionaries and the church. They will gain team building skills, and administrative skills, and understand the steps to plan a successful mission trip. They will work with the Mission Director to gain wisdom and insight for missions.

Mission-focused students will be required to go on at least one mission trip. Students will need to apply for Global Entry in the fall.

  • Pour into this generation who desire to be spirit-led believers. Students will get hands-on experience learning how to light various age groups on fire for Jesus. They will have different opportunities to build teams, facilitate services, and work side-by-side with staff.

  • Students will develop practical leadership skills by assisting in the day-to-day functions of a worship pastor. They will learn the responsibilities required to produce a church service, and how to support their senior Pastor by providing Spirit-led worship leadership. The program is designed to empower and equip leaders to lead and run a worship department, and to lead the body of Christ in worship.

Auditions are required to be entered into department.
